Short Bio

I joined Johns Hopkins University in 2017 and became an Associate Professor in 2023. Previously, I held postdoctoral positions working with Alexandre Chorin at UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. I received my PhD from the University of Kansas in 2013 supervised by Yaozhong Hu and David Nualart.

Research

My research interests are in probability, PDEs/SPDEs, statistics, and their applications in scientific computing and machine learning. My current research focuses on developing mathematical foundations for learning dynamics from data, inverse problems, computational model reduction, and data assimilation.

Current projects: My current projects include: learning of kernels in operators, statistical learning for interacting particle systems and weak-form PDEs (from sequential ensemble data without trajectory information), and mathematical foundations of in-context learning. Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in collaborating.

Openings: I am actively seeking self-motivated PhD students interested in probability, PDEs, machine learning and scientific computing. If you are interested, please email me. I do not offer summer internships and do not work on financial mathematics.
