Text:

Carothers,  Real Analysis

Prerequisite:

110.415

Grading:

weekly homework assignments (50%),  open-book midterm exam (25%),  final problem set (25%)

Homework:

Since the purpose of the homework is to gain better understanding of the material, you may discuss the homework with other students and get help from others, but you must write up the homework solutions on your own. Copying homework from another student or from any other source is a violation of academic integrity.  Homework will be assigned each Monday and will be due the following Monday in class. No late homework will be accepted for any reason, including excused absence.  To allow for absences, the two lowest (or missing) homework scores will be dropped.

Course policy:

You are expected to attend and actively participate in lecture and section meetings regularly. Questions are encouraged; if there is something you don't understand or are unsure of, speak up!  We also encourage you to come to our office hours for help anytime you have questions in between classes.

Check your email regularly; announcements related to the course will be sent to your JHEM email address.  Finally, please silence cell phones and refrain from text messaging or using electronic devices during class.
