Advice and Comments from Former Students (unsolicited)

I started requesting letters about the course from (certain) students after the Fall '94 course. That was the first year that I ran the course more or less the way it is run now (Spring '02 is the 7th time), though the manner was altered a little each time. I soon started collecting comments offered by students as well. This compilation reflects all previous times since Fall '94 except Spring '01, when I didn't collect.

The main purpose of these things is to inform future students how to get the most out of what this professor offers. One of those things is the prospect of learning the material really well, while acknowledging that it must come from student effort under the guidance of the instructor.
